We understand that moles and other skin abnormalities on the face or neck can be unpleasant to experience and cause a lower self-esteem. What may not be noticeable to others can certainly be noticeable to you as you see your appearance up close and on a daily basis.

Normal moles can differ in size, color, and shape and can be found anywhere on the skin. Some of the characteristics of a normal mole are:

Although these atypical moles are benign, they are at an increased risk of developing skin cancer. You may be at a higher risk for melanoma if you have numerous atypical moles or an immediate family history of melanoma.
