Sculptra is composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic material that has been used for decades in dissolvable stitches and soft tissue implants. It’s a biodegradable molecule and is easily broken down and absorbed within the body. PLLA is the ingredient responsible for stimulating collagen.
Though Sculptra doesn’t perform the typical filling action, it is still a dermal filler treatment.
