The Vbeam is a pulse dye laser that’s FDA-approved and the gold-standard treatment when it comes to treating redness in the skin. It’s non-invasive and involves minimal downtime, and the laser is able to selectively treat the targeted lesions without damaging any of the surrounding skin tissue.
The laser frequency is designed to where it can be absorbed by the targeted blood vessels but not the skin itself. When your vessels are heated, they coagulate and are slowly absorbed by your body through the natural healing process it triggers.
As a non-ablative laser, Vbeam doesn't harm your skin by cutting or burning. It’s relatively gentle, though there are small bursts of a heated sensation that you might feel during the treatment.

During treatment, you'll be given protective glasses or eye shields to protect your eyes from the laser light. A small handpiece is placed against your skin which delivers short bursts of energy along with cooling treatment between each pulse of the laser. The entire process should last no more than 20 minutes.
Many patients describe the treatment as feeling like quick rubber band snaps. In most cases, we won’t need to apply a topical anesthetic. After treatment, you may feel like you have a mild sunburn for several hours. Some may experience swelling and minor bruising, but this treatment has no real downtime associated for most.
There are many factors that contribute to how your skin looks and feels. The number of treatments needed and the results are based on your unique skin condition. Typically we will recommend 3-5 treatments 4-6 weeks a part for optimized results.
In some cases, results may be permanent. But if your condition is reoccurring, such as rosacea, there may need to be additional treatment routines recommended. Most patients start to see the improvement immediately after treatment.
We will recommend protecting your skin from sun exposure with sunscreen and staying away from excessive heat for a period of time after treatment.
