The VBeam laser is a vascular laser that is used to treat broken capillaries, red spots known as hemangiomas, rosacea, scars, and warts. We also use this laser to minimize bruising that can occur with cosmetic injectable procedures. The technology was originally invented to treat vascular birthmarks known as port wine stains and is safe enough to use on newborn skin. The VBeam utilizes a wavelength of light that is selectively absorbed by red structures in the skin. We can therefore target those structures without damaging the surrounding skin.
The treatment typically feels like a cold stinging sensation. For most treatments no anesthetic is required. Treatment times can last anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes. After the treatment some people will have some swelling or minor bruising. For many this can be a “no downtime” procedure.
It is crucial to receive this treatment from a licensed medical professional, such as Dr. Potozkin or Dr. Ellis, to ensure safe and effective treatment. For more information on the VBeam laser or to schedule an appointment, please don’t hesitate to contact us today at (925) 838-4900!
