Our practice philosophy is simple — to deliver the very best care we can in the very best way we can.

To us, that means we make each and every patient feel welcomed from the moment that they walk in the door until they leave the office. It means that we listen to what the patient has to say and address those concerns. It means we give advice and recommend treatments based on our extensive training with leaders in the field, our wealth of personal experience, and our commitment to excellence. For our cosmetic patients, it means working with the patient to achieve results that look natural, not overdone or exaggerated. It means that we always strive to do the right thing for the patient, as we value very highly ethics, honesty, and integrity. It means we stand behind what we do and will do everything in our power to get the best results we can for the patient. It means we carefully select the highest quality staff to represent us and help us carry out these goals. Lastly and most importantly, it means that we treat the patient the way we would want ourselves to be treated, with respect and kindness. Because at the end of the day, without all of our loyal patients, we wouldn’t have a practice.”

Philanthropy Work

My wife, Dr. Monica Brar, and I are blessed and grateful to practice medicine in an exceptional community.   We are both very proud and fulfilled with the level of care we provide.  But there is a sense of personal fulfillment and joy that only comes from giving of yourself with no strings attached, for the greater good of those less blessed and fortunate.  And it was with that thought in mind that we launched our annual “Vanity for Charity” event in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina.  Monica grew up in Louisiana and attended LSU Medical School in New Orleans.  Watching the city that she loved be so severely affected was heartbreaking, and so many of those who lost everything had so little to start with.  That was what sparked our desire to give back to the city where her medical education began.  Thus, “Vanity for Charity” was born.

So in October 2005, we held our first annual event, and all of the proceeds of any cosmetic dermatology procedure performed in our office that day was to be donated.  Beforehand, we reached out to our network of generous, compassionate patients, and they responded as we knew they would.  Together, we were able to raise $18,000, which was donated to both the American Red Cross and the Habitat for Humanity to aid in rebuilding New Orleans.  It was such a remarkably gratifying experience, that we knew we had to make it an annual event.

Since that time, our event has raised funds for a variety of charities including Stand Against Domestic Violence and the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign against heart disease.  Most recently in October 2015, Dr Potozkin and his staff sponsored STAND! for families free of violence. Over 40 patients showed up to support the annual fundraiser Vanity for Charity. Together they raised over $23,000 for STAND! with their guilt free cosmetic treatments. Other past recipients have been the very deserving Taylor Family Foundation (TTFF), a local charity founded by the inspiring Elaine and Barry Taylor.  This incredible organization runs unique summer camps for children with a large variety of illnesses (like disfiguring skin conditions) and disabilities, allowing these children to feel like a “normal kid” by being with others like them.  TTFF was a natural choice for me because when I was a child growing up in New York, my parents (Joe and Shondell Potozkin) ran a non-profit summer camp, Camp Williams, for inner city kids of all ethnicities.  That experience was life changing for many of the campers as per their own words, as a handful of them have kept in touch with my parents over the years.   So, to be able to support another extremely worthy program that can make a dramatic impact in the life of a young person feels like a family tradition, and one that I am very grateful to be able to continue.

To date, we have been lucky enough to raise over $150,000 to donate to all the above mentioned causes.  We look forward to being able to donate much more over the coming years and to continue this spirit of generosity.
