What is BOTOX®?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is the most popular cosmetic procedure in the country and one of our most requested services. Quick, safe and effective, BOTOX® reduces or eliminates facial lines and wrinkles for up to six months with no downtime or surgery and little to no discomfort. Through a series of tiny injections, BOTOX gives you a rejuvenated look by smoothing crow’s feet beneath the eyes, frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal lines across the forehead, worry lines around the mouth, and lines on the neck.
How does BOTOX® work?
BOTOX® is made from a highly purified protein that is very safe when administered by a trained physician. The medication relaxes the muscles in the face that cause wrinkles. In this way, BOTOX® smoothes the lines in the skin that make you look tired or angry.
BOTOX® Treatment for Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis is a common condition that involves excessive sweating of certain parts of the body, including the face, hands, feet and underarms. Those with this condition often need prescription-strength antiperspirants to control sweating, and may have to change clothes frequently or avoid wearing certain fabrics.
Hyperhidrosis can be treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic injections, which block the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands, significantly reducing the amount of sweat produced. Most patients notice a significant reduction in underarm sweating in 4 weeks, with results lasting for more than 6 months. Although symptoms gradually return, results can be maintained with routine follow-up treatments.
What should I expect after treatment?
You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours for moderate to severe frown lines, with results lasting up to 4 months.
Botox Side Effects
Possible side effects may include, but not limited to:
- Pain at the injection site may occur
- Mild difficulty swallowing
- Muscle weakness may occur
What is Dysport®?
Dysport is an FDA-approved injection treatment used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles in the forehead. Similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport is injected directly into the site of wrinkles to prevent the underlying muscles from contracting.
Am I a good candidate for Dysport?
Dysport injections are ideal for nearly any patient who wishes to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face and restore a younger and more refreshed appearance. Both men and women can benefit from this procedure and experience the physical and emotional effects of an improved appearance.
How does Dysport work?
Dysport injections are administered directly into the facial muscles that cause frown lines and other wrinkles. These injections are generally painless and do not require anesthesia, although a numbing agent may be used to help minimize any discomfort for patients who are anxious about the procedure. Treatment sessions usually take less than 15 minutes to perform, and are administered at six-week intervals. Most patients achieve their desired results within three to five injections.
After the Dysport injection, the facial muscles will gradually relax and patients will notice the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles diminishing over one to seven days.
Dysport side effects
Although Dysport is considered safe for most patients, there are certain risks associated with any kind of procedure. Some of these risks may include:
- Allergic reaction or a condition known as ptosis
- Headache for several hours after treatment
- Muscle weakness
